Academy Life
A GDA student enjoys a rich academic, spiritual, and social life filled with academic, extra-curricular, and social activities. Plays, reenactments, “wax museums”, and academic competitions encourage deeper learning beyond the classroom. Service projects, morning devotions, and monthly initiative lunches focus on truly reaching each student’s heart for God. And GDA’s strong athletics program provides fantastic opportunities for development outside of school.
Spiritual Growth
While teachers work to educate young minds, reaching a child’s heart for God is our primary goal. Intentional efforts to cultivate disciples for the next generation is key to our collaborative model with parents. GDA provides ample opportunities for students’ spiritual growth and development including:
- Daily worship with hymns and devotions
- Catechism Memory
- Opening class prayers and requests
- Monthly chapel
- Character callouts
- Girls “intangible” lunches / Boys “initiative” lunches
- Scripture integration in the classroom
- Annual student retreat
- Community service projects
- The Gem Foundation partnership
- Uganda Missions trip
