Our Story
We all ask important questions as we consider how to provide an excellent education for our children…
How I can provide an academically rich educational environment for my children—where they will learn how to think, not just what to think, discuss things that last such as truth, beauty, and goodness, and also grow in their love for learning?
Is there a school that would come alongside of us to help our children grow as disciples who know and love Christ above all else and develop a faith that is thoughtful, personal, and winsome?
Can we find a school where parents are both supported and involved in a campus community that upholds the role of the family?
Gloria Deo’s story began with questions like these. A handful of families wondered how they could provide an academically rich, spiritually-focused, family-minded education to prepare students to live out their God-given calling with purpose and excellence. These common desires motivated our founders to prayerfully consider how to make this dream a reality.
In the fall of 2012, Gloria Deo Academy launched with fifty-seven students in grades 2-9. The following year, the school expanded to become a K-10 school. Enrollment doubled, so we added eight classrooms to accommodate our growth. In 2014, we made the decision to keep enrollment steady and added an 11th grade class along with two more classrooms, including a science lab. We began a few athletic programs as well. We grew again in 2015 to 175 students, and much to our amazement, we were able to purchase acreage adjacent to our current campus so we prepare for the future. In January 2020, we broke ground on Phase 1 of a gym. Additional phases will include classrooms, offices, and athletic fields. Recently, we have seen our athletic programs flourish and bring joy and have especially enjoyed the launch of our House System to provide mentoring and leadership and service opportunities for our upper school students. Gloria Deo has grown into a robust community of learning and discipleship where students are trained to become lifelong worshippers, lifelong learners, and lifelong servants. It is a privilege to be part of a school that invests in students for a lifetime.
